Former Somebody To Wed Current Nobody

Singer Aaron Carter is engaged to Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche. Peniche, who formerly dated Aaron's older brother, Nick, won the 2003 Miss Teen USA, but was later stripped of the title after posing for Playboy. Carter popped the question in front of 200 people during the Playboy Comedy Tour at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Carter will star in a new reality series about his family, entitled House of Carters next month. We're sure this engagement has everything to do with love and not a thing to do with crass and blatant opportunism. {People}

Oprah nixes Presidential Gig, Doesn't Want To Move To Smaller House.

Talk show titan Oprah Winfrey is reportedly taking legal action to block Kansas City businessman Patrick Crowe's attempts to have her run for President. Mr. Crowe has set up a promotional 1-800 number and written a self published book entitled Oprah for President: Run, Oprah, Run. Oprah's team are not impressed by this, saying that Crowe's actions are causing "damage and irreparable injury" to Ms. Winfrey's business endeavours. I'm guessing it's more about Oprah not willing to move to smaller digs. {Us, NY Post}
